Andrew, you have an elite experience with your own education. I'm working in schools (labeled as 'at-risk) with a deep culture of compliance that is ingrained in our community and in families who think I'm "too soft" when I listen to students and use their ideas. Students make fun of classmates who are kind or appear too interested in academics. It's so systemic, designed to keep staff and students in a place of compliance. Where and how is this paradigm being reset with our more marginalized populations?
