Breaking the Paradigm exists for educators who are tired of being the lone voice in faculty meetings. The ones who see that incremental reform perpetuates harm. The ones who understand that comfortable conversations don’t dismantle oppressive systems.

We are a collective of educators, thinkers, and leaders who have left the realm of easy answers to wade in the emergence of deep questions.

We hail from a variety of backgrounds: Montessori, progressive education, public, private, and international. What binds us is our belief that education isn’t just about children in classrooms. It’s about a radical reorientation of the systems that shape all of us, human and more-than-human, toward the world Dr. Maria Montessori envisioned: one of equity, interdependence, and collective flourishing.

Cultivating such a world not only takes knowledge and action, but deep inner reflection as we change our ways of being needed to live in this new world. At Breaking the Paradigm, we’re here for all of that.

If you’re ready to move from isolation to collective, from reform to revolution, you’re in the right place.

Who We Are

Breaking the Paradigm is hosted by Andrew Faulstich and Kelly Jonelis. We both bring a myriad of interests to the podcast and to our work- from math to morality, guitar playing to spoon carving.
